Beauharnais, Georg de

Alexander Georg de Beauharnais, Prince Maximilianovich of Romanov, Duke of Leuchtenberg was the grandson of the Russian Tsar and holder of a Bavarian noble title. His father left Munich for St. Petersburg and he grew up in the Tsar's court. After the death of his first wife, the Russian Duchess of Oldenburg, he married Anastasia of Montenegro. Because his sons had no descendants, the title of duke passed to another branch of the family.
