As a writer of humorous prose, he was a contributor to several satirical magazines. When in 1918 his satirical magazine was banned in St. Petersburg, he fled to Sevastopol, where he became involved against the Bolsheviks. In 1920 he emigrated to Prague via Istanbul. He is the author of numerous humoresques, short stories and plays.
